Brett Barker, BA, BFA, MAE is the creative force behind the Brett Barker Design Studio,Sprocketeria, and Peace. Love. Shibori. brands.  Brett creates innovative repeat and stand-alone surface/textile designs and fine art from a Redondo Beach, California studio where hand-dyed, hand-painted, and CAD designs are available for licensing under the bbds collections tab.  Other designs are created using a variety of media such as acrylics, oils, thread, textiles, charcoal, watercolors, gold leaf and pastels.  Select Japanese shibori-dyed artwork and apparel are available for sale under the tab.

Over 20 years' experience as a professional artist, an adjunct faculty member (currently teaching at the prestigious ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA), and an author of a best-selling textile design book have given Brett a valuable, unique perspective on wall art, textile design, and surface design. 

Her current work stems from living throughout the U.S. and abroad (Santa Fe, Nashville, Manhattan, Paris, Tuscany, and Malmo, Sweden to name a few) and often references such diverse influences as European classical paintings, Japanese packaging design, jewelry from New Mexico, and the sand and surf of Southern California.
